DDEOKBOKKI [TOPPOKI] RECIPE

Ddeokbokki or more easily called Topokki is a typical culinary side of the road that can be eaten anytime and anywhere. Often also referred to as rice cakes because it is made of rice flour with spicy flavor that is very red color evocative taste. The shape is oval and long and has a chewy texture. Usually eaten while still hot. This snack is very popular as the most sought after number one snack in  Korea, especially rice cake is often raised in Korean dramas.

DDEOKBOKKI RECIPE



The main ingredient:

     500 gram garaetteok (if you do not want to make it yourself)
     500 ml of water
     1 cloves of cut onion
     2 pieces of chopped onion
     250 grams of fish cake cut into 5cm sizes
     200 grams of carrots cut with 5cm length


Sauce ingredients:

     2 tbsp gochujang or Korean chili paste
     1 teaspoon chili powder or can also use ½ tsp chili powder locally
     1 tbsp sugar



How to Make Tteokbokki

1. After the rice cake is ready, now let's move on to how to make his tteokbokki. First of all, please mix all ingredients to make spices in one container then stir until evenly distributed. After that, please follow the following steps:

2. Put water into the pan and boil for 15 minutes or until boiling.
3. After boiling please input garaetteok, seasoning sauce, onions, onion, fish cake, and carrots.
4. Stir all the ingredients for the seasoning to seep evenly.
5. While constantly stirred, boil all the ingredients until the water shrinks and the gravy becomes thick.
6. Turn off the stove and serve the tteokbokki while it's hot.




You can also add other ingredients if you like like, meat, fish cake, ham, or ramen.
